Product details

Shikonin powder Usage and Synthesis.

Comfreyin has some medicinal value and can be used for the treatment of oral mucosal diseases such as oral aphthous ulcers and oral candidiasis.

In addition, comfreyin and its derivatives have biological activities such as anti-inflammatory, inhibition of periodontal pathogens such as Porphyromonas gingivalis, promotion of periodontal wound healing and regeneration of alveolar bone tissue.

In terms of antiviral, it was found that comfreyin has low toxicity in the concentration range used in the experiment, and has certain in vitro anti-influenza virus activity and direct killing of parainfluenza virus. In addition, comfreyin has some antibacterial activity and can be used to treat Candida albicans infections.

It should be noted that comfreyin is insoluble in water, soluble in ethanol, organic solvents and vegetable oils, easily soluble in alkaline water, and precipitate precipitation when encountered with acids.

Shikonin powder

Uses and functions of Shikonin powder.

Edible purple pigment. Used for spicy meat and poultry canned colouring, dosage 0.35 ~ 0.56 g / kg. Can be crushed comfrey in a fine sieve, 160 ~ 170 ℃ hot oil poured on it, so that the pigment is dissolved in the oil. The oil flows out through the fine sieve and mixes with the chilli powder in the container, which is fully stirred and boiled to make mixed sauce for spare.

As a food colouring agent, China's regulations can be used for fruit juice (flavour) drinks, fruit wine, ice cream and popsicles, the maximum use of 0.1g/kg.

Shikonin

Pharmacological Effect of Shikonin powder.

(1) Hypoglycaemic effect

Comfrey leaf extract and comfrey glycans (A, B, C) have significant hypoglycemic effects.

(2) Bacteriostatic effect

Comfrey has an inhibitory effect on Kyoko 68-1 virus in the test tube, and has an inhibitory effect on Staphylococcus aureus. The anti-parainfluenza virus effect of levoflavin was studied by haemagglutination reaction and cytopathic method, and the results showed that it had low toxicity within the concentration range used in the experiment, and had certain in vitro anti-influenza virus activity and direct killing of parainfluenza virus.

(3)Effect on blood coagulation

Intraperitoneal administration of the pigment components of comfrey (comfreyin, acetyl comfreyin) does not affect the blood coagulation time, but can prevent the anticoagulant effect of heparin.

(4) Anti-tumour effects

Comfrey extract has some inhibitory effect on the late stage of DNA synthesis (G2 phase) in Hela cells.

(5) Cancer inhibition

Comfrey inhibits proliferation, promotes apoptosis and induces cell cycle arrest in human choriocarcinoma resistant cell lines (JAR/MTX) cultured in vitro. Experiments show that the concentration of comfrey increases with the increase of the dose and the prolongation of the action time, and the inhibition rate of the growth of choriocarcinoma-resistant cells is also increased significantly.

(6) Effects on hormone secretion

The effect of comfrey on the function of hypothalamus-pituitary-gonadal axis of pubertal female rats showed that the serum hormone level of comfrey group was significantly lower than that of the negative control group, and there was no significant difference comparing with the positive control group. It shows that comfrey has an inhibitory effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis function of rats.

(7) Antioxidant effect

Some researchers measured the scavenging ability of comfrey pigment on superoxide radical (O2-) and 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH), and its inhibitory effect on β-carotene/linoleic acid autoxidation system. The results showed that the comfrey pigments had a strong scavenging capacity for both DPPH and O2- and an obvious inhibitory effect on the β-carotene/linoleic acid autoxidation system, and it was concluded that the pharmacological effects of comfrey might be related to the strong antioxidant capacity of naphthoquinone pigments.

Shikonin Raw materials

Product method of Bulk Shikonin powder.

The root of comfrey as raw material, at 165 ~ 1 70 ℃ with 4 times the amount (mass) of refined soybean oil leaching 6min, and then slightly more than the soybean oil 95% of ethanol (v/v) in 2 times to extract the leaching solution; ethanol extract in the 80kPa vacuum concentration, and then filtered off the insoluble material that is the finished product.
