Viamin ester is a derivative of retinoic acid, with a structural formula similar to all-trans retinoic acid, and a mechanism of action more similar to that of 13-cis-retinoic acid and aromatic retinoic acid, but with milder side effects than that of all-trans retinoic acid. Oral administration has the function of regulating and controlling the differentiation and growth of epithelial cells, inhibiting keratinisation, reducing sebum secretion, inhibiting the keratinisation process of keratin-forming cells, restoring keratinisation abnormality to normal, inhibiting the growth of Propionibacterium acnes, and regulating the immune and anti-inflammatory effects.

Viamine ester is the first generation of retinoic acid drugs developed and produced by our country, which is used for the treatment of moderate to severe acne, and also has certain efficacy in ichthyosis, psoriasis, mossy skin diseases and certain keratotic abnormalities of skin diseases. 1. Combined with isotretinoin and tetracycline, it can cause "pseudotumour of the brain", resulting in increased cranial pressure, headache, visual impairment.

2. Combined with vitamin A, can produce similar symptoms of vitamin A overdose, should not be used together.
