Product details
L-Serine is one of the aliphatic polar amino acids, belonging to the sugar-generating amino acids, which are widely found in natural proteins. As a basic amino acid composing proteins, L-Serine is widely used in the industries of pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics, and the market demand is increasing.
Uses of L-Serine.
L-serine is a biobasic raw material mainly used in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries with an annual production of about 400 tons.
In E. coli, there are two L-serine catabolic pathways: one is the deamination of L-serine to produce pyruvate, and the other is the production of glycine from L-serine.
Recently, researchers found that by knocking out the L-serine catabolic pathway in E. coli, high conversion rates of L-serine production can be achieved.
However, serine toxicity largely limits serine production because it inhibits cell differentiation, peptidoglycan synthesis, and cellular activity. Therefore, researchers are working to address this issue to improve the efficiency and safety of serine production.
L-serine, as a non-essential amino acid, is mainly used in the food, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Currently, the fermentation method to produce serine mainly uses Corynebacterium glutamicum and Escherichia coli as the chassis microorganisms.
Characteristic of L-Serine.
Product method of Bulk L-Serine Powder.
Reacted with DL-serine and chloroacetyl chloride under alkaline conditions, evaporated under reduced pressure and extracted with ethyl acetate, the product was obtained after treatment with activated charcoal and acylase I splitting.
