Ferrous gluconate (Iron(II) gluconate, ferrous gluconate) is a black compound, a salt formed by gluconic acid and ferrous ions. It is often used as an iron supplement. Unless otherwise specified, all data are from standard conditions (25 ℃, 100 kPa).

As a food iron fortifier, it has better absorption effect than inorganic iron. my country stipulates that it can be used in table salt and sandwich candies at a dosage of 4800-6000 mg/kg; in high-iron cereals and their products (daily limit of 50g of such food), it is 1400-1600 mg/kg; in dairy products and infant foods, it is 480-800 mg/kg; in cereals and their products, it is 200-400 mg/kg; in beverages, it is 80-160 mg/kg.
