Antiparasitic effect
By inhibiting the synthesis of parasite microtubule proteins, interfering with the energy metabolism of the parasite (such as blocking glucose uptake), leading to the death of the parasite
It has a significant killing effect on nematodes (ascaris, hookworms, whipworms) and some tapeworms (such as Dipylidium caninum)
Broad-spectrum and safety
It is well tolerated by host animals such as dogs and cats at therapeutic doses, with few side effects

How to use fenbendazole capsules correctly?
1. Applicable objects and uses
Main uses: Used to treat intestinal parasites such as roundworms, hookworms, and tapeworms in pets such as dogs and cats. It also has an auxiliary effect on some external parasites (such as mites)
Applicable animals: Suitable for puppies/cats over 2 weeks old and with a weight that meets the standard. Pregnant animals must strictly follow the doctor's instructions
2. Dosage and usage
Conventional dose
Dogs: Calculated at 25-50 mg per kilogram of body weight, once a day, for 3 consecutive days (tapeworm infection may need to be extended to 7 days)
Cats: 20-100 mg per kilogram of body weight, the course of treatment is adjusted according to the type of parasites (such as nematode infection requires 5 consecutive days)
Adjustments for special groups
Pregnant female dogs are recommended to reduce the dose to 25 mg/kg, and continue to use the drug from 40 days of pregnancy to 2 days after delivery
Animals with impaired liver and kidney function The dose needs to be reduced or the dosing interval needs to be extended
III. Precautions for taking medicine
Dosing time: It is recommended to take it on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal) to enhance absorption
Dosage method: It can be taken directly orally or crushed and mixed with food, and sufficient intake must be ensured
Treatment cycle: Generally, repeated medication is required (2-4 weeks apart), and preventive deworming is done every 3 months
IV. Contraindications and side effects
Contraindications: It is contraindicated for animals in early pregnancy, individuals with severe liver and kidney dysfunction, and those who are allergic to the drug
Common side effects: It may cause vomiting, diarrhea, or decreased appetite. If symptoms persist, the drug should be discontinued and medical attention should be sought
V. Drug interactions
Avoid combined use with other anthelmintics such as praziquantel and ivermectin, which may increase the risk of toxicity
Animals that use glucocorticoids for a long time need to be evaluated before deciding whether to use them together
Application of Fenbendazole capsules.
Veterinary field
Applicable animals: Treatment of intestinal parasitic infections in dogs, cats, horses, cattle and other livestock and companion animals
Usage: Precise dosing according to body weight (25-50 mg/kg for dogs, 20-100 mg/kg for cats), usually for 3-5 consecutive days
Potential research direction
Laboratory studies have shown that it may inhibit cancer cells by stabilizing HIF-1α and other mechanisms, but it has not yet been approved for human cancer treatment.
How fenbendazole capsules work.
1. Core anti-parasitic mechanism
Tubulin inhibition
Selectively binds to the parasite's β-tubulin, blocking its polymerization to form microtubule structures, leading to cytoskeleton collapse
By destroying microtubule-dependent functions (such as nutrient transport and cell division), the parasite loses its ability to move and dies
Energy metabolism interference
Inhibits glucose uptake by the parasite, deprives it of its energy source, and accelerates the exhaustion of the parasite
It has a specific damaging effect on the epidermal cells of the digestive system of nematodes (such as roundworms and hookworms) and some tapeworms
2. Potential anti-cancer mechanism (research stage)
Microtubule stability regulation
Similar to paclitaxel, it inhibits mitotic spindle formation and blocks cell division by stabilizing cancer cell microtubules
May inhibit the adaptability of the tumor microenvironment by interfering with the HIF-1α pathway
Multi-target effect
Induce cancer cell apoptosis and have synergistic potential with traditional chemotherapy drugs (such as vinca alkaloids)
