Product details
Flufenicol is not easy to develop resistance: because fluorine atoms replace the hydroxyl group in the molecular structure of methylphenicol, it effectively solves the problem of resistance to chloramphenicol and methylphenicol. Strains resistant to thiamphenicol, chloramphenicol, amoxicillin and quinolones are still sensitive to this product.
Because chloramphenicol has serious adverse reactions such as aplastic anemia and immunosuppression, it is prohibited to use in food animal production. It has been proved that the main group causing aplastic anemia in the chemical structure of chloramphenicol is the para-nitro group in the aromatic ring. Flufenicol replaces NO2 groups with CH3SO4, which changes the chemical structure, so it is used in animals without adverse reactions to aplastic anemia. As a result, it is approved for use in more than a dozen countries, including Japan, Mexico and China.
Flufenicol has a wide antibacterial spectrum and is sensitive to Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Proteus, Haemophilus, actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, mycoplasma suis, Streptococcus suis, Pasteurella suis, bordetella bronchosepticus and Staphylococcus aureus. The drug is easy to absorb and widely distributed in the body. It is a fast-acting and long-acting preparation with good safety and no potential to cause aplastic anemia. In addition, the price is moderate, and it is cheaper than other drugs for the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases, such as tymycin (mycoplasma), timicosain, azithromycin, etc., and the cost of medication is easy to be accepted by users. Because of these characteristics, domestic flufenicol has been widely used, and has become the first choice for the prevention and treatment of respiratory tract and digestive tract bacterial infections in livestock and poultry.
Uses of Florfenicol.
Flufenicol is a synthetic antibiotic of thiamphenicol. Like chloramphenicol and thiamphenicol, it has shown strong activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Veterinary antimicrobial for bacterial diseases of pig, chicken and fish caused by sensitive bacteria, used for bacterial diseases of pig, chicken and fish caused by sensitive bacteria, especially for respiratory system infection and intestinal infection. In the European Union, it has been approved for the treatment of respiratory infections in cattle in 1995 and in pigs in 2000.
Pharmacological action of Florfenicol.
By binding to the 50S subunit on bacterial ribosomes, flufenicol inhibits the transpeptide reaction of peptidyl transferase, thus inhibiting the extension of the peptide chain. At the same time, it selectively acts on the receptors of the 70S ribosomes that make up the bacterial body, altering and interfering with the function of peptidyl transferase, thereby doubly interfering with the synthesis of bacterial proteins. The antibacterial spectrum and antibacterial activity of flufenicol are slightly better than that of sulfoxamycin, and it has strong antibacterial activity against a variety of gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Pasteurella hemolyticus, Pasteurella multocida are highly sensitive to this product, streptococcus, shigella dysentery, salmonella typhi, Klebsiella, Escherichia coli and Haemophilus are sensitive to this product.
