Bethanechol Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Bethanechol Powder is a cholinomimetic drug with the effect of excitation of smooth muscle to promote gastrointestinal motility, promote secretion of body fluids, enhance appetite and help digestion. 

Bethanechol CAS 590-63-6 can be used for post-surgical abdominal gas and bloating, gastric tension deficiency and gastric retention, etc. Patients with incomplete gastric retention can be given orally before meals, and patients with complete retention can be injected subcutaneously. 

It can be used for post-surgical or post-partum urinary retention and is more effective when combined with adrenergic receptor blockers to reduce the resistance of the internal urethral sphincter outlet. It can also be used for oral mucosal dryness.

Application/Function of Bethanechol Powder.

Bethanechol Chloride  is a selective agonist of the muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAChR M). This compound is not hydrolyzedby acetylcholinesterase due to the carbamyl functional group.

Production Method of Bethanechol Powder

The traditional synthesis process of clobechcholine is to mix phosgene (obtained by the action of carbon tetrachloride with fuming sulfuric acid) into methyl choline chloride and chloroform solution, stirring reaction. After the reaction is completed, the chloroform is steamed out, the PH value is adjusted with ammonia, the solid substance is filtered out, and the solid substance is washed with a small amount of anhydrous ethanol.

After the filter and lotion are combined, anhydrous ethanol is heated for reflux, cooling, and filtration, the solid substance is removed, and a small amount of anhydrous ethanol is still washed, the filter and lotion are combined and heated to steam out ethanol and cool the crystallization.

The cake is then filtered, isopropyl alcohol is added, dissolved by heating, and crystallized by cooling. Again after filtration, dried to obtain carbamyl-methylcholine chloride fine. However, the traditional synthesis process has high cost, high pollution and low yield.
