Tetramidazole hydrochloride can improve the resistance of patients to bacterial and viral infection. Tetramisole, which is non-toxic orally, was tested in 14 different hosts on all adult and juvenile gastrointestinal and lungworm species at an effective low dose injection. Tetramisole (10 μg/mL) acts on the worm, resulting in sustained contraction of the isolated muscle. Tetramisole acted on roundworm muscles, reducing their resting potential from 34 mV to 10 mV, and induced a twitching response in the muscles previously stimulated with high K Tetramisole (0.1 mM) in cats, directly or indirectly. Tetramisole (0.1 mM) acts on chickens to enhance the preparation of the tic response and reverse the inhibition of Tubocurarine, producing reversible neuromuscular block and muscle contracture.
