Baicalein Powder Usage and Synthesis.

The toxicity of scutellaria baicalensis was extremely low, the decoction was given to rabbits by gavage and the alcohol extract was injected intravenously, and the activity of scutellaria baicalensis was weakened, while 4 g/kg of scutellaria baicalensis was given to dogs by gavage for 8 weeks, and no toxic reaction was observed. If 2 g/kg of scutellaria baicalensis was injected intravenously into healthy rabbits, it showed that the toxicity of scutellaria baicalensis was much greater than that of oral injection. The total number of white blood cells in normal rabbits could be significantly reduced by injection of Amaranthus scutellaria extract into muscle and intravenous.

Pharmacological action: Baicalein has the effect of reducing cerebral vascular resistance, improving cerebral blood circulation, increasing cerebral blood flow and anti-platelet agglutination. It is clinically used for the treatment of paralysis after cerebrovascular disease.

Uses of Baicalein.

It has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, diuretic, gallbladder, cholesterol-lowering, anti-thrombosis, relieving asthma and other effects. It is also a specific inhibitor of mammalian liver salivary enzyme, which has the role of regulating certain diseases. In industry, baicalin phosphate is prepared as raw material for allergic and asthmatic pneumonia, and also as astringent and hemostatic.

1. Extract scutellaria baicalensis root, crush it, boil it with water for 3 times, combine the extract solution, filter it, add acid to adjust the ph value to 4, set it aside after mild hot stirring, and centrifuge to separate the precipitate. The precipitate is washed in water with a ph of 4 and dried to a coarse product. The crude product was dissolved by boiling water in 1.2mol·L-1 hydrochloric acid for several hours, and the eluent was baicalein after cooling and filtering.
