Product details
Silymarin, also known as Liver Balm, Liver Tai, Cilimarine, Liverone, is a flavonoid complex extracted from the seeds of Artichoke silymarin of the Asteraceae family, condensed from dihydroflavonols and phenylpropanoid derivatives, with the appearance of a yellow powder or crystalline powder, and a bitter flavour.
Easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol and ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform, almost insoluble in water, has a strong hepatoprotective effect, can protect liver cells from free radicals, the effectiveness of which is much better than vitamin E, to promote protein synthesis, to speed up the manufacture of new liver cells, and can allow the damaged liver cells to repair themselves, and therefore is known as the "natural hepatoprotective drug! Therefore, it is called "natural liver protection medicine".
It mainly contains four kinds of flavonoid isomers: silybin, isosilybin, silydianin and silybinin, among which silybin is the main bioactive ingredient of silymarin and its content is also the highest, which has the effects of anti-oxidative free radicals, anti-lipid peroxidation, and protection of the liver cell membrane.
As silymarin is difficult to dissolve in water, poor oral absorption and low bioavailability, solid dispersion technology of lecithin can be used to increase the lipid solubility of silymarin and improve the bioavailability (about 3 times), so as to enhance its effects of anti-lipid peroxidation, stabilisation and repair of damaged hepatocyte membranes, and promotion of the recovery of hepatocyte function.
Clinically, it has been used to treat acute and chronic hepatitis, hepatitis B, cirrhosis and many kinds of toxic liver injury, etc. It has achieved good results.
Uses and functions of Milk Thistle.
It has obvious hepatoprotective effect, suitable for acute and chronic hepatitis, early cirrhosis, etc.
Silymarin is an excellent plant for liver protection. Its seeds contain a new type of flavonoids, the main component of which is SILYMARIN, a mixture of silymarin-glycosides, and is rich in fat-soluble vitamins A, D and E. It has good antioxidant properties, effectively scavenging free radicals and "breaking" the damage caused by the polymerase reaction.
It has a good antioxidant function, can effectively scavenge free radicals, and "broken" multi-enzyme reaction to the body caused by the damage, the liver has a very good detoxification function.
It has good health effects on many liver and gallbladder symptoms such as cirrhosis, fatty liver, liver toxicity, cholecystitis, pericholecystitis, cholelithiasis pain and so on.
Main effects:
1. Preventing liver damage: forming a protective film on liver cells, significantly reducing the damage to the liver caused by alcohol overdose.
2. Assisting liver disease: It has a strengthening and repairing effect on the liver. By stimulating protein synthesis, it can promote the repair of liver cells and promote cell renewal. It can improve the symptoms and liver function of hepatitis patients.
3. It can reduce the chance of liver cells being damaged by free radicals and protect liver cell membranes. It has the effect of anti-radiation.
4. Regulates the secretion of bile, helps to digest fat, and also nourishes the stomach, spleen, gallbladder and kidneys.
5. Provides nutrients for the circulatory system and reduces cardiovascular problems, including atherosclerosis and hypercholesterolaemia.
Pharmacological Effect of Milk Thistle.
1. Silymarin has been shown to have an antitoxic effect against muscarinic, alpha-goitrogens (toxic substances found in the fungus Ghost Pen Gooseberry), carbon tetrachloride, galactosamine, thioacetamide, and the hepatovirus FV3 in a variety of pathological models of toxic liver damage.
2. The efficacy of silymarin is attributed to its several points of action and mechanisms of action: due to its free radical trapping capacity, silymarin has anti-peroxidative activity.
The pathophysiological process of lipid peroxidation, which causes damage to cell membranes, is blocked or prevented by silymarin and, in already damaged hepatocytes, silymarin stimulates protein synthesis and normalises phospholipid metabolism.
The greatest effect of silymarin is its stabilising effect on the hepatocyte membrane, which prevents the loss of dissolved cellular components (e.g. various transferases).
3. Silymarin can limit the penetration of certain hepatotoxic substances (e.g., alpha-goitrogens) into the cell interior.
Enhanced protein synthesis is due to silymarin stimulating the activity of RNA polymerase l in the nucleus, thus leading to an increase in ribosomal RNA synthesis in the hepatocyte, as well as leading to a high level of synthesis of structural and functional proteins (enzymes).
The effect of silymarin is to enhance the hepatic cell's ability to repair and regenerate.
Adverse Reactions of Bulk Milk Thistle.
Mild diarrhoea was occasionally noted.
