Product details
Alginic acid is a natural polysaccharide mainly composed of D-mannuronic acid and L-guluronic acid, which exists in seaweeds and has many properties such as thickening, suspending, emulsifying, stabilizing, forming gels, forming films and spinning fibers, etc., and is widely used in the fields of food, paper making and cosmetics.
In the field of agriculture, alginate fertilizers can promote plant growth, increase leaf area and stem length, and improve plant growth rate and yield, as well as enhance plant resistance and improve soil quality. In addition, alginate pellets do not belong to the dangerous goods listed in the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, and can be transported in accordance with ordinary goods.
Uses of Alginic Acid.
Alginic acid is a kind of natural polysaccharide, which mainly exists in seaweeds, and has a variety of effects and functions.
Firstly, alginic acid can reduce the surface tension of water and form a film on the surface of plants, which increases the contact area and enables plants to effectively absorb the nutrients in seaweed extract.
Secondly, alginic acid can improve the soil environment, which is rich in polysaccharide aldehyde acid glycosides, and can improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of soil.
In addition, alginic acid has the properties of thickening, suspending, emulsifying, stabilizing, forming gels, forming films and spinning fibers, and has a long and wide range of uses in the food, paper and cosmetic industries[. In recent years, alginic acid has also found important uses in the field of biomedical engineering.
Characteristic of Alginic Acid.
White to yellowish brown fibrous granules and powder. Odorless and tasteless, or with a slight special smell and taste. Insoluble in cold water, soluble in alkaline solution, insoluble in organic solvents. pH value of 3% aqueous suspension is 2.0-3.4. meets calcium salt precipitation, and its sodium, potassium, ammonium or magnesium salt is soluble in water.
Product Method of Bulk Alginic Acid Powder.
Alginic acid is widely found in the cell walls of hundreds of brown algae such as macroalgae, kelp, Murraya and Sargassum, mostly in the form of calcium and magnesium salts.
The method of preparing alginic acid is to extract the above algae with aqueous sodium carbonate and then refine it with hydrochloric acid or calcium chloride. The process is as follows: add sodium carbonate to the kelp after iodine extraction, heat to 60-80℃, keep warm and stir for 2h, so that the calcium alginate in the kelp forms sodium salt and dissolves in water. Add a small amount of formaldehyde fixed pigment to improve the color of the finished product. Separate the soaking liquid and dilute with water.
Roughly filtered through a 30-mesh sieve. And emulsification floating method to slag. Then fine filtration through a 100-mesh sieve to get the crude filtrate. In the fine filtrate add hydrochloric acid to pH = 2, so that sodium alginate free into alginate gel precipitation, add 5% calcium chloride to promote gel dehydration.
The water content of alginate gel is below 75% by pressing machine.
