Preparation of Tartrazine.
Product method of Bulk Tartrazine Powder.
It is prepared by coupling p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid with 1-(4'-sulfophenyl)-3-hydroxy-5-pyrazolone after diazotization; it can also be prepared by condensing sodium dihydroxytartrate with phenylhydrazine p-sulfonic acid, alkalizing, and then salting out the resulting pigment with salt and refining it.
