Uses of Glycolic acid powder.
Glycolic acid is mainly used as dyeing aid for wool and acrylic fiber, and is also used as raw material for making ethylene glycol, menthol glycolate and quinine glycolate and substitute for tartaric acid.
It is an important chemical raw material, used as a raw material for the manufacture of ethylene glycol, menthol glycolate and quinine glycolate. It can also produce tanning agent, hair dye, leather dyeing agent, fiber dyeing agent, adhesive, metal chelating agent, petroleum demulsifier, electroplating agent, aluminum plate etching agent, cellulose fabric crosslinking agent, stainless steel electric polishing agent, etc. Also used in food processing plants and cattle and shed cleaning agents, disinfectants, boiler anti-scale agents, copper and other metal surface treatment agents, and preparation of skin care cosmetics.

Preparation of Glycolic acid powder.
A process for producing glycolic acid from methyl glycolate comprises the following steps:
1) The molar ratio of methyl glycolate and water is 1: Under the action of resin solid acid catalyst, vacuum to 10 ~ 101kPaA, heat until the tower reactor liquid boils at 80 ~ 85℃, and carry out reaction rectification. During the reaction process, keep the temperature of the tower reactor liquid and boiling temperature unchanged, continue to recover the methanol condensate at the top of the tower, and after full reflux for 10 ~ 30min, When reflux ratio was adjusted to 0.5 ~ 3 and reaction time was 2 ~ 6h, glycolic acid aqueous solution was produced by tower reactor.
2) The glycolic acid solution obtained in the evaporation and concentration step 1, and the mass content of glycolic acid in the glycolic acid solution is enhanced to 70-90wt %;
3) decolorization to colorless;
4) Crystallize the product obtained in step 3, precipitate crystalline glycolic acid, filter and separate glycolic acid crystals, rinse and vacuum dry to obtain finished glycolic acid crystals;
5) Concentrate the filtrate in Step 4 directly or mix with the glycolic acid aqueous solution obtained in step 1, repeat steps 2) to 4), and recycle.
Product method of Bulk Glycolic acid powder.
1. Chloroacetic acid method Chloroacetic acid is hydrolyzed under alkaline conditions to obtain crude product, and then esterified by methanol to obtain methyl hydroxyacetic acid, and then distilled and hydrolyzed to obtain the finished product.
2. High temperature and high pressure method is prepared by the reaction of formaldehyde, carbon dioxide and water.
3. Cyaniding hydrolysis method is made of formaldehyde and hydrocyanic acid as raw materials, synthesized by cyaniding and acidic hydrolysis.
4. Sodium cyanide process with formaldehyde, sodium cyanide as raw materials, by adding cyanide and acid hydrolysis of two steps to prepare.
