Cefotaxime sodium can be used clinically for pneumonia and other lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, meningitis, septicemia, abdominal infection, pelvic infection, skin and soft tissue infection, reproductive tract infection, bone and joint infection caused by sensitive bacteria. Cefotaxime can be used as the drug of choice in children with meningitis.

Product Method of Bulk Cefotaxime sodium Powder.

8g sodium bicarbonate dissolved in 20ml ethanol, 45.55g 3-acetoxymethyl-7 -[2-(2-amino-4-thiazolyl) -2-methoxyiminoacetamido] ceftaxime slightly 4-carboxylic acid (Cefotaxime) dissolved in 100ml distilled water was continuously added, then 80rnl ethanol and 4.5g activated carbon were added. Stir for 5 minutes and strain. Wash the cake with ethanol, concentrate the filtrate under reduced pressure, and dissolve the remaining in: 100ml ethanol, then concentrate until dry. The remainder was dissolved in 100ml methanol and poured into 2L acetone. The solution was stirred violently and filtered under reduced pressure. The solid was washed with acetone and then with ether, and dried under vacuum. 43.7g white cefotaxime sodium was obtained. The cefotaxime sodium is hygrometric in air, and the weight after hygrometric is 45.2g, which is the hydrate of cefotaxime sodium.
