Manidipine partially inhibits sympathetic nerve activity and suppresses mean arterial pressure response to norepinephrine infusion. Manidipine also inhibits aldosterone secretion. Manidipine increases urinary calcium and uric acid. In addition, Manidipine, at nanomolar levels, can effectively regulate the transcription of genes involved in pro-inflammatory changes in mesangial cells.
