Colchicine Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Colchicine Powder, also known as Colchicine, Autumn Crocus Extract is an alkaloid extracted from the bulb and seeds of the lily family Colchicaceae, naturally occurring in the lily family Garlandiaceae and Lijiang Mountain Cichlid, with contents of 0.11% and 0.1%, respectively. Colchicine Raw Material is effective in acute gout, relieving pain rapidly and preventing arthritis attacks, and its mechanism of action is related to inhibiting leukocyte proliferation and activity and affecting lysosome release.
Colchicine Powder is one of the most widely used chemical agents. The concentration of its aqueous solution is positively correlated with its potency of action, the higher the concentration, the stronger the action. Various plants and different tissues react differently to colchicine. In general, for young and rapidly dividing tissues (such as the germ of sprouting seeds), the treatment time can be shorter and the concentration should be lower; conversely, the treatment time can be longer and the concentration should be higher.
Uses and functions of Colchicine Powder.
Colchicine Powder is effective in acute gout, relieving pain rapidly and preventing arthritis attacks. Its mechanism of action is related to the inhibition of leukocyte proliferation and activity, and affecting the release of lysosomes.
The pharmacological effect of Colchicine Powder is to reduce the inflammation caused by uric acid crystals by decreasing the activity and phagocytosis of leukocytes in inflammatory tissues, thus exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-swelling and pain-relieving effects, so it has selective anti-inflammatory effects on acute gouty arthritis.
In addition, Colchicine Powder is also a mitogenic toxin, which has a strong effect of inhibiting cell division, causing cells to stop in the division phase and leading to the death of tumor cells, so it can be used in cancer treatment.
It does not affect the production, dissolution and excretion of urate, and thus has no effect on lowering blood uric acid. It is used clinically for the treatment of acute attacks of gouty arthritis, prevention of acute attacks of recurrent gouty arthritis, familial Mediterranean fever, leukemia, skin cancer, Hodgkin's disease, aplastic anemia, etc.
It is also used for the cycle-specific treatment of breast cancer, lung cancer, esophageal cancer, cervical cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, Hodgkin's disease, chronic granulocytic leukemia, skin cancer and other malignant diseases in phase M.
- 1. For the treatment of acute gout: Adults take tablets orally at the first dose of 0.5~1mg, and then take 0.5~0.6mg every 1~2 hours until the joint symptoms are relieved or gastrointestinal symptoms appear, then stop the drug. Generally the total dose of 4-10mg takes effect. Note that the earlier the drug is administered during the acute attack, the better the effect. If intravenous injection is used, the first dose of 1~2mg should be injected slowly with 20ml of saline for not less than 5 minutes, and if necessary, 0.5~1mg should be injected quietly every 6~12 hours until it takes effect, the total dose is 4~5mg/d. The effect of quiet injection is better than that of oral administration, and the gastrointestinal reaction is significantly reduced.
- 2. For the prevention of acute attacks of gout: 0.5-0.6mg per adult tablet, twice daily or 1-2mg/d by sedation. 3. For the experimental diagnosis of gout: if the acute joint symptoms are relieved after the use of the drug, it will help to clarify the diagnosis.
