Andrographolide Powder Production Method:

The product is a kind of lactone extracted from the leaves of Andrographis paniculata plant. Andrographolide leaves are soaked in 95% ethanol and the ethanol extract is decolorized with activated carbon, the decolorized liquid is distilled to recover the ethanol and the concentrate is left to get crude crystals, the crude crystals are heated and dissolved with 15 times the amount of 95% ethanol.

Decolorized with activated carbon, filtered while hot, left to recrystallize, and light yellow recrystallized product is obtained, then refined by distilled water, chloroform and methanol to get the finished product of Andrographolide. The total yield is 1-1.5% for raw drug.
