Ketoprofen, also known as Ketoprofen, Ubuprofen or ProfenidOrudis, chemically known as alpha-methyl-3-benzoylphenylacetic acid, is an excellent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the class 2-arylpropionic acid.
It has a history of more than 40 years since it was first marketed in France and the United Kingdom in 1972, and was approved by the U.S. FDA as an analgesic prescription drug in 1986 and as an over-the-counter drug in 1995, with keto ibuprofen products being manufactured mainly in France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Japan, the United States, Spain, India and China, and is now listed in the British Pharmacopoeia, 2013 edition, the European Pharmacopoeia, 8th edition, the U.S. Pharmacopeia, 8th edition, and the U.S. Pharmacopoeia, 8th edition. It is now included in the 2013 edition of the British Pharmacopoeia, the 8th edition of the European Pharmacopoeia, the 38th edition of the United States Pharmacopoeia, the 16th edition of the Japanese Pharmacopoeia and the 2015 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

Ketoprofen Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Ketoprofen is a white crystalline powder, odourless or almost odourless; very soluble in methanol, soluble in ethanol, acetone or ether, almost insoluble in water.
It is easily absorbed orally and reaches peak plasma concentration 0.5-2 hours after a single dose. Plasma protein binding is very strong. 30% to 90% excretion rate from urine within 24 hours, excreted as glucuronide conjugate. t1/2 is 1.6 to 1.9 hours.
Oral: 50 mg 3 times a day or 100 mg 3 times a day, then twice a day. To avoid gastrointestinal irritation, it should be taken after meals. Controlled-release tablets: 100-200 mg once a day. Rectal administration: 100-200 mg 2-3 times a day.
Uses and functions of Ketoprofen.
Ketoprofen belongs to the arylpropionic acid class of new non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, used for the treatment of various arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis caused by joint pain, as well as dysmenorrhoea, dental pain, postoperative pain and cancer pain, etc., and therefore favoured by experts and scholars at home and abroad, as well as the pharmaceutical industry and patients.
Ketoprofen is used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute joint and periarticular diseases, cervical spondylitis, lower back pain (sprains, lumbago, sciatica, fibrositis), skeletal muscle pain and dysmenorrhoea.
Ketoprofen is used as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout.
Pharmacological Effects of Ketoprofen Raw Materials .
Ketoprofen has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. It has a strong anti-inflammatory effect with few side effects and low toxicity. In the same dose, the anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect is 150 times stronger than aspirin, the antipyretic effect is 4 times that of indomethacin, 100 times that of aspirin, and the toxicity is only 1/20 of indomethacin.
1. Aspirin or probenecid can reduce the plasma protein binding rate of this product, so that the blood concentration of this product increases, should not be used together.
2. The concomitant use of this product with heparin, bicoumarin, warfarin and other anticoagulants can lead to prolongation of the prothrombin time and increase the tendency to bleeding.
3. When Ketoprofen is used with furosemide, the sodium excretion and antihypertensive effects of the latter are weakened.
4. Ketoprofen can reduce the antihypertensive effect of antihypertensive drugs.
5.Ketoprofen can increase the blood concentration of digoxin, methotrexate and oral hypoglycaemic drugs, so it is not suitable for coadministration.
