Cardamom Seed Extract powder Usage and Synthesis.

Cardamom extract is widely used in both perfumery and skincare. In perfumery, cardamom seed extract can be used with other plant extracts to create a warm, intimate aroma.

In skincare, cardamom extract contains antioxidants that inhibit hyaluronidase and collagenase, acting as a skin protector. In addition, some perfumes use cardamom seed extract along with other plant extracts to create a unique aroma.

Uses of Cardamom Seed Extract powder.

Cardamom extract has a variety of benefits and effects in herbal medicine. Firstly, cardamom extract has tyrosinase inhibiting properties which can be used to lighten the skin and prevent hyperpigmentation.

Secondly, cardamom extract also has a strong hyaluronidase inhibiting effect, which moisturises the skin and protects its moisture content. In addition, cardamom extract also has an inhibitory effect on collagenase, which protects collagen fibres from enzymatic hydrolysis, thus anti-aging and preventing skin aging.

Pharmacological Effect of Cardamom Seed Extract powder.

1.Effect on intestinal motility

The crude extract of cardamom can exert intestinal excitatory and inhibitory effects through cholinergic and calcium antagonistic pathways, respectively.

3～10mg/mL crude extract of cardamom has an excitatory effect on the isolated ileum of atropine-sensitive guinea pigs, and has a diastolic effect on the spontaneous motility of the jejunum of rabbits as well as on the contractile motility induced by 80mol/LK+.

2.Gastroprotective effect

The methanol extract of cardamom, volatile oil, small polar part and polar part of methanol extract were investigated by gavage to rats with gastric ulcer caused by aspirin, ethanol and pylorus ligation, respectively, and the results showed that all the extracts had a significant protective effect on gastric injury caused by aspirin and ethanol in rats.

Among them, the small polar part of methanol extract had the most significant effect, and the activity had been superior to that of 50mg/kg ranitidine at the administered dose of 12.5mg/kg.

3. Anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect

Cardamom aqueous extract can dose-dependently promote the proliferation of splenocytes, and has a synergistic effect with black pepper.

Enzyme immunoassay results show that cardamom aqueous extract can inhibit the release of Th1 cytokines from splenocytes, while promoting the release of Th2 cytokines, showing anti-inflammatory activity; it can also reduce the production of NO by macrophages.

Cardamom volatile oil administered by gavage has a significant inhibitory effect on plantar swelling caused by carrageenan gum, and also has an inhibitory effect on the torsion reaction induced by intraperitoneal injection of p-benzoquinone in mice.

4.Antioxidant effects

The methanolic extract of cardamom scavenges DPPH-free radicals with an IC50 of 217.431 mg/mL, showing good antioxidant activity.
