Salicin raw Powder CAS 138-52-3 Salicin Details
Salicin Usage and Synthesis.
Salicylin has antipyretic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-rheumatic effects. In addition, it also has bitter stomach-strengthening and local anesthetic effects. It can also be used as a biochemical reagent.
Uses of Salicin.
1. Treat fevers, colds and infections
As a "natural aspirin", salicin is used to treat minor fevers, colds, infections (influenza), acute and chronic rheumatic discomfort, headaches and pain due to inflammation. Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid), a synthetic substitute for salicylate, has potentially dangerous gastrointestinal side effects. As its natural configuration, salicylate is harmlessly converted to salicylic acid in the blood and liver through the gastrointestinal system. The conversion process takes several hours, so the results are not immediately felt by the human body, but the general effect lasts for several hours.
2. Relieve arthritis pain and lower back pain
Salicin is thought to be the source of the anti-inflammatory and pain relieving ability of white willow bark. The pain-relieving properties of white willow bark usually take effect more slowly but last longer than those of regular aspirin products. A trial found that a class of herbal compounds containing 100ng salicylate can effectively improve the pain relief of arthritis patients after two months of continuous administration. Another trial found that 1360mg of white willow bark extract (containing 240mg of salicin) daily for two weeks was more effective in treating joint pain and/or arthritis. Using high-dose white willow bark extract may also help relieve lower back pain. A four-week trial found that white willow bark extract containing 240mg of salicin could effectively reduce the deterioration of lower back pain.
Drug interaction of Salicin.
Product Method of Salicin.
The skin and leaves of Sallows were extracted with hot water. Poplar and willow trees produce a rich herbivorous compound called salicin, which is the original source of the widely used painkiller aspirin.
