Uses and functions of Butenafine Powder
Butenafine Raw Materials can inhibit squalene cyclooxygenase activity of fungi at low concentration, resulting in squalene accumulation and insufficient ergosterol synthesis in fungi:
- (1) Squalene has a direct toxic effect on fungal cells, which can lead to the rapid death of fungi, showing the fungicidal activity of Butenafine;
- (2) Ergosterol is essential for the formation of fungal cell membranes, and insufficient synthesis of ergosterol inhibits the growth of fungi; this dual action of Butenafine Powder causes the rupture of fungal cell membranes and exhibits potent fungicidal activity.
Butenafine Raw Powder also has a direct disruptive effect on fungal cell membranes at higher concentrations. Unlike azoles, Butenafine does not inhibit cytochrome P450 enzymes and does not affect adrenal and gonadal hormone synthesis.
Pharmacological Effects of Butenafine Raw Powder
- Butenafine Raw Powder exhibits in vitro and in vivo inhibitory effects against Candida albicans, the main mechanism of which is the direct disruptive effect of Butenafine on Candida albicans cell membranes;
- At the same time, the inhibition of fungal ergosterol synthesis by Butenafine made the fungal cell membrane more sensitive to the direct membrane disruption of Butenafine.
- In addition, human trials have demonstrated that Raw Butenafine Powder has prominent anti-inflammatory activity, eliminating erythema of the skin due to medium-wave UV exposure.
- Raw Butenafine Powder also showed strong anti-inflammatory effects, whereas terbinafine did not.
Production method of Raw Butenafine Powder
1-Naphthalenecarboxylic acid is used as raw material, 1-naphthalenecarbonyl chloride is obtained by chlorination with sulfoxide, N-(4-tert-butylbenzyl)-N-methyl-1-naphthalenecarboxamide is obtained by condensation with 1-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-N-methylmethylamine, and then Buteynaphthine hydrochloride is obtained by reduction with lithium aluminium hydroxide and formation of salt.
