Oroxylum Indicum Extract Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Wood Butterfly, also known as Jade Butterfly, is the dried mature seeds of Oroxylumindicum (L.) Vent., mainly produced in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi and other places.

Wood Butterfly has the function of clearing the lungs and improving the pharynx, dredging the liver and stomach, and is mainly used for the treatment of lung-heat cough, paralysis of the throat, hoarseness, liver and stomach qi pain and other diseases. 

Flavonoids are the main components of wood butterfly extract, and flavonoids have certain pharmacological effects in anti-inflammatory, anti-metamorphic, anti-microbial, anti-tumour and other aspects.

Uses and functions of Oroxylum Indicum Extract.

A single decoction of wood butterfly is effective in the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, acute bronchitis, acute laryngitis, chronic pharyngitis, whooping cough, whooping cough syndrome, and late stage of pneumonia, with the efficacy of the decoction positively correlating with the dosage.

Pharmacological Effect of Oroxylum Indicum Extract.

Its main antibacterial active ingredient is Lappa alcohol, β-Lappa quinone and wood butterfly A.

2.Anti-inflammatory effect of wood butterfly aqueous extract can reduce the degree of swelling in the auricle caused by xylene in mice, showing a better anti-inflammatory effect; and wood butterfly aqueous extract of mice splenic index was significantly reduced, the thymic index, liver index and kidney index has no significant effect.

4.Anti-cancer effects The IC50 of wood butterfly extract on leukaemia cells (CEM), acute granulocytic leukaemia cells (HL-60), melanoma cells (B-16) and colon cancer cells (HCT-8) were 19.6, 14.2, 17.2 and 32.5 μg/mL in the order of the IC50 of wood butterfly extract on leukaemia cells (CEM), acute granulocytic leukaemia cells (HL-60), melanoma cells (B-16) and colon cancer cells (HCT-8), which revealed that wood butterfly extract has the strongest toxicity effect on cancer cells.

Preparation method of Bulk Oroxylum Indicum Extract Powder.

Preparation of water extraction: take 20g of wood butterfly into a beaker, add 200mL of water, moistened for 30min, placed in a water bath (100 ℃), keep 1.5h, filtered the first filtrate.

Add 150mL of water, according to the above method of water bath for 1.5h, filtration of the second filtrate. Repeat the above steps once to get the third filtrate, and combine the three filtrates.

The filtrate was centrifuged at 3000r/min for 20min, and concentrated to 20mL (1g/mL extract).

Microwave extraction preparation: crushed wood butterfly with a grinder, accurately weighed wood butterfly powder 20g, divided into four sample canisters, each canister with distilled water 50mL.

The extraction was carried out at a temperature of 100 ℃ for 15 min.

After microwave treatment, the samples were centrifuged at 3000 r/min for 20 min, and then concentrated by water bath evaporation to 20 mL (1 g/mL extract), which was obtained.
