Raw material Hydrocortisone Powder 50-23-7
Product Overview:
Hydrocortisone (HC), also known as cortisol and cortisol, is an important adrenal glucocorticoid with the chemical name 11β,17α,21-trihydroxypregna-4-ene-3,20-dione, which acts pharmacologically by diffusely acting on the target cell, binding to its receptor and forming a steroid-receptor The activated steroid-receptor complex acts as an activator of gene transcription, binds to the specific sequential strand of DNA in the form of dimer, regulates gene transcription, increases the production of mRNA, and uses it as a template to synthesise the corresponding proteins, which realise the physiological and pharmacological effects of steroid hormones in the target cells; HC affects glucose metabolism, and possesses anti-inflammatory, antiviral, anti-convulsive, and HC can affect glucose metabolism and has anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-shock and anti-allergic effects.

Hydrocortisone Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Uses of Hydrocortisone.
It is mainly used in the replacement therapy of hypoadrenocorticism and the treatment of congenital adrenocortical hyperplasia, also used in rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatic fever, gout, bronchial asthma, allergic diseases, and used in the treatment of serious infections and anti-shock, etc. It is also the raw material for the preparation of several other important steroidal drugs.
Glucocorticoids have four major effects: anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antitoxin and anti-shock.
Pharmacological Effect of Hydrocortisone.
Hydrocortisone pharmacological effects are mainly:
(1) Anti-inflammatory effect: hydrocortisone reduces and prevents the reaction of inflammation in the body by reducing the permeability of capillaries, stabilising the activity of lysosomal membranes, and preventing the accumulation of leukocytes at the site of inflammation, so as to achieve the effect of alleviating inflammation;
(2) Immunosuppressive effects: hydrocortisone prevents or inhibits cell-mediated immune responses by accelerating the apoptosis of lymphocytes in the organism and preventing the formation of mononuclear macrophages;
(3) Antiviral effects: bacterial endotoxin produced by bacteria can damage human cells, and hydrocortisone can counteract its damaging effects on the organism and exert antiviral effects.
The effect of hydrocortisone is similar to that of dexamethasone, but the degree of its adverse effects is milder than the latter, and it is mainly used in the treatment of adrenocortical hyperplasia, but also used in rheumatoid arthritis, antiviral, allergic diseases, and can be used for serious infections and anti-shock treatment, etc.
Product Method of Bulk Hydrocortisone Powder.
4-Pregnene-17a,21-diol-3,20-dione-21-acetate (acetate compound "S") was oxidised by microbial oxidation with pearhead mould (Absidia Orchidis 3.65), followed by extraction, isolation, and refinement to give hydrocortisone in 44% yield.
