Linoleic Acid Usage and Synthesis.
α-Linoleic acid is colourless to light yellow oily liquid at room temperature, easily oxidised in air. Melting point (℃): -12, boiling point (℃): 230 (2.13kPa).
Linoleic acid is a fatty acid that cannot be synthesised by the human body, or the amount synthesised is far from enough to satisfy the need, and is called an essential fatty acid. Linoleic acid and alpha-linolenic acid are both essential fatty acids clearly identified in nutrition.
