Zinc carnosine is a chelate of zinc and L-creatinine, full name: Beta-alanyl-L-HistidinatChemicalbookoZinc. It contains 23% zinc and 77% L-Histidin. It is an approved drug in Japan, a gastric mucosal protector, clinically used to treat gastric ulcers.

Polyprenylzinc is a new anti-ulcer drug, it is the first zinc-containing compound to be used clinically, the drug was marketed in Japan in 1994 under the trade name Promac, in the form of granules.
