N-acetyl-l-cystein Powder Usage and Synthesis.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is a common pharmaceutical ingredient used in the treatment of various respiratory diseases such as chronic bronchitis, asthma and emphysema. In addition, it has antioxidant and hepatoprotective properties.
Uses of N-acetyl-l-cystein.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is used as a mucous phlegm dissolving drug. It is indicated for respiratory obstruction caused by large amounts of mucous phlegm. It can also be used for the detoxification of acetaminophen poisoning.
Because of the special odour of this product, it is easy to cause nausea and vomiting. It has irritating effect on the respiratory tract and can cause bronchospasm, and can be used in combination with isoprenaline and other bronchodilators, and with sputum aspirator to expel sputum.
It is not suitable for contact with metals (such as Fe, Cu), rubber, oxidising agents. Should not be used in conjunction with antibiotic drugs such as penicillin, cephalosporin, tetracycline, etc., so as not to reduce its antibacterial effect. Use with caution in bronchial asthma.
N-acetyl-L-cysteine is a biochemical reagent, medicine, the product is used as an expectorant, called phlegm easy to clean, easy to cough quiet. It has a decomposition effect on viscous phlegm.
The mechanism of action is that the sulfhydryl group contained in the molecular structure of the product can break the disulfide bond in the polypeptide chain of mucin in mucous phlegm, so that the mucin is decomposed, lowering the viscosity of phlegm, making it liquefied and easy to cough out.
It is suitable for people with acute and chronic respiratory diseases whose sputum is thick and not easy to cough out, as well as those who have a large amount of mucous sputum obstruction and cause critical symptoms due to difficulty in suction and inhalation.
Preparation of N-acetyl-l-cystein.
(1) 300 kg of cysteine hydrochloride monohydrate will be sent to the 2-ton ceramic reactor after qualified inspection, and add 1650 kg of water to stir to become liquid, the reactor will be sealed, and then 1 cubic metre of acid anhydride will be passed through sequentially, and then add an appropriate amount of liquid alkali with the concentration of 20% while stirring, and then stop adding alkali when the pH value reaches 12, and then start to add temperature and pressure and set the pressure at 0.4Mpa, and the temperature at 125℃ -135℃. -135℃, keep warm for acylation reaction for 1.8-2.2 hours, then add appropriate amount of hydrochloric acid, and stop stirring when the measured pH value reaches 3.
(2) Transfer the materials in the 2-ton ceramic reactor to the 2-ton cooling reactor while it is hot, and use circulating brine to cool down the materials in the kettle to below 3℃ while stirring to get the acetylcysteine crystals.
(3) The acetylcysteine crystals will be sent to the centrifuge for solid-liquid separation, after removing the water acetylcysteine solid will be sent to the vacuum dryer for drying, drying at 75 ℃ 85 ℃ for 11-13 hours, after drying can be crushed through the sieve, and then packaged that is to get the finished product of acetylcysteine.
Drug interactions of Bulk N-acetyl-l-cystein Powder.
1. N-acetyl-L-cysteine should not be mixed with penicillin, cephalosporin and tetracycline antibiotics, as it can make the latter ineffective.
2. Combining or alternating with isopropyl epinephrine can improve the efficacy and reduce the adverse reactions.
3. Avoid contact with metal and rubber utensils, oxidising agents and oxygen.
