N-acetyl Cysteine Powder Usage and Synthesis.
N-Acetyl-L-cysteine is a drug that has antioxidant, detoxifying, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Oral administration of NAC reduces the ability to convert extracellular cystine to cysteine, as well as stimulates glutathione (GSH) synthesis, enhances GSH-S-yltransferase activity, and promotes detoxification as well as a direct effect on the reaction to oxygen free radicals.
In vivo, NAC was able to increase intracellular GSH levels in erythrocytes, hepatocytes, and lung cells as well as to replenish depleted experimental GSH stores. High-dose administration of acetaminophen depleted GSH levels and inhibited GSH transferase activity, and application of NAC 1 h after acetaminophen administration prevented these effects.
N-Acetyl-L-cysteine is also commonly used in the treatment of respiratory infections, bronchitis, asthma, and other respiratory disorders. In addition, N-acetyl-L-cysteine has antitumor, antiviral, and antifibrotic effects.
Uses of N-acetyl Cysteine.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine is used as a mucous phlegmolytic drug. It is indicated for respiratory obstruction caused by large amounts of mucous phlegm.
It can also be used for the detoxification of acetaminophen poisoning. Because of the special odor of this product, it is easy to cause nausea and vomiting. It has an irritating effect on the respiratory tract and can cause bronchospasm, generally used in combination with isoproterenol and other bronchodilators, together with sputum aspirator to expel sputum.
It is not suitable to contact with metals (such as Fe, Cu), rubber, oxidizing agents. Should not be used in conjunction with antibiotic drugs such as penicillin, cephalosporin, tetracycline, etc., so as not to reduce its antibacterial effect. Use with caution in bronchial asthma.

A production method of N-acetyl-L-cysteine, characterized by the following steps:
(1) 300 kg of cysteine hydrochloride monohydrate is fed into a 2-ton ceramic reactor after qualified inspection, and 1650 kg of water is added and stirred to become liquid, the reactor is sealed, and 1 cubic meter of acid anhydride is passed through sequentially, and then an appropriate amount of liquid alkali with a concentration of 20% is added while stirring, and when the measured pH value reaches 12, the alkali is stopped, and the warming and pressurizing is started, and the adjusted pressure is 0.4 MPa, and the temperature is 125°C -135℃, keep warm for acylation reaction for 1.8-2.2 hours, then add appropriate amount of hydrochloric acid, and stop stirring when the measured pH value reaches 3.
(2) Transfer the materials in the 2-ton ceramic reactor to the 2-ton cooling reactor while it is hot, and use circulating brine to rapidly cool down the materials in the kettle to below 3℃ while stirring to get the acetylcysteine crystals.
(3) The acetylcysteine crystals will be sent to the centrifuge for solid-liquid separation, after removing the water acetylcysteine solid will be sent to the vacuum dryer for drying, drying at 75 ℃ 85 ℃ for 11-13 hours, after drying can be crushed through the sieve, and then packaged that is to get the finished product of acetylcysteine.
