Telmectin fumaric acid is not a macrolide; it belongs to a new class of truncated siderophore antimicrobials that do not produce any cross-resistance with existing known macrolides.

Pleuromutilin is a broad-spectrum diterpene antibiotic produced by Pleurotusmutilus, a precursor to semi-synthetic derivatives of the truncated pleuromutilin class of drugs.

Truncated siderophores are a large family of novel antimicrobials with good antimicrobial activity and resistance, which can effectively inhibit most Gram-positive bacteria, mycoplasmas and some Gram-negative bacteria.

Uses and functions of Tiamulin Fumarate.

Taimycin fumaric acid can be used for the treatment of porcine pneumonia caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and porcine haemodysentery caused by swine dysentery dense spirochete.

It can promote weight gain as a feed additive for pigs. It is also effective in the treatment of chronic respiratory disease in chickens, Mycoplasma pneumonia in pigs and staphylococcal synovitis in chickens.

Taimycin fumaric acid is mainly used for swine mycoplasma pneumonia, Haemophilus parvum, infectious pleuropneumonia and swine dysentery caused by dense spirochete, also used for avian chronic respiratory, mycoplasma pneumonia, infectious rhinitis, Escherichia coli disease, infectious plasmacytosis in ducks.

Pharmacological Effect of Tiamulin Fumarate.

Taimyrin fumaric acid is a bacteriostatic antibiotic belonging to the truncated siderophore group, but it is also bactericidal against sensitive bacteria at very high concentrations.

Like macrolide antibiotics, taimyrin fumaric acid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S subunit unit of the ribosome.

Tiamulin fumarate has good antimicrobial activity against a wide range of Gram-positive bacteria including most staphylococci and streptococci (except group D streptococci) and a variety of mycoplasmas and swine dysentery dense spirochetes.

Tiamulin fumarate can be combined with gentamycin 1:4 for the treatment of swine bacterial enteritis, bacterial pneumonia, swine dysentery with dense spirochetes, and it is effective in the treatment of mycoplasma pneumonia, pneumonia caused by mixed infection of Bordetella bronchiseptica and Pasteurella multocida.
