Catharanthus Roseus Extract Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Periwinkle is slightly bitter in taste, cool in nature and belongs to the liver meridian, with the effects of detoxification, clearing heat and calming the liver. Periwinkle extract is rich in terpene alkaloids, dimeric indole alkaloids, monoindole alkaloids and other alkaloids and flavonoids, which have therapeutic effects on a variety of tumours, hypertension, carbuncle sores and poisons, scalded, malaria, diarrhoea and Hodgkin's disease, but also has hypoglycemic, diuretic and other pharmacological activities.

Uses of Catharanthus Roseus Extract.

Anti-cancer, lowering blood pressure. Used for hypertension, malignant lymphogranuloma, choriocarcinoma, acute lymphatic leukaemia, childhood lymphatic leukaemia.

1. 22 cases of Hodgkin's disease, 11 cases of lymphosarcoma, 1 case each of malignant reticulocyte hyperplasia, mycosis fungoides, leukaemia, green tumour, mediastinal tumour, and 6 cases of reticulocyte sarcoma were treated with Vincristine Sulphate in tumour. As a result, there were 4 cases of complete disappearance, 15 cases of obvious effect, 12 cases of effective, 6 cases of ineffective, 3 cases of deterioration, 3 cases of unknown, and the total effective rate was 72.1%.

Pharmacological Effect of Catharanthus Roseus Extract.

1.Anti-cancer effect of periwinkle alkaloids and periwinkle alkaloids have anti-cancer effect. The anticancer spectrum of periwinkle alkaloids on animals is wider than that of periwinkle alkaloids; the alkaloid Ac-875 proposed from periwinkle has obvious inhibitory effect on mouse Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma, ascites-type hepatocellular carcinoma and rat ascites-type Yoshida sarcoma.

The mechanism of anticancer effect is that both periwinkle alkaloids and periwinkle alkaloids can denature the protein of spindle filament microtubule in the cell, so that the formation of spindle humour filament is impaired, thus inhibiting the mitosis of the cell, so that the cell division stops in the middle stage; in addition, they can also inhibit the synthesis of DNA and inhibit the enzyme of RNA polymerase, so that the synthesis of RNA is impeded.
