American Ginseng Extract Powder Usage and Synthesis.

American ginseng extract is extracted from the root of Panax quinquefolium L., a plant of the family Wujiaceae, with ginsenoside as the main active ingredient, and also containing volatile oils, amino acids, inorganic elements, sugars and polysaccharides, fatty acids and other components. It has strong cytotoxic activity against leukaemia cells (L1210), and also has anticancer, antioxidant, inhibition of vomiting, protection of cardiomyocytes and neuroprotection.

Ingredient of American Ginseng Extract.

1.Saponin-like components saponin-like components according to its parent structure is mainly divided into three categories: Dammarane (Dammarane), oleanolic acid (Oleanane), Ocotillol (Ocotillol), has been isolated 49 kinds, including the newly discovered ginsenosides Rb1, Rb2, Rb3, Rc, Rd, Re, Rf, Rg1, Rg2. Rg3, Rh1, Rh2, Ro, pseudoginsenoside F11, etc. 2.Sugars and polysaccharides from the ginseng has been isolated sucrose (yield, Rh2, Ro, pseudo ginsenoside F11 and so on. 2.Sugar and polysaccharide from the ginseng has been isolated sucrose (yield, Rh1, Rh2, Ro, pseudo ginsenosides F11 and so on. 3, Rg3, Rh1, Rh2, Ro, pseudo ginsenoside F11 and so on.

2. Sugars and polysaccharides have been isolated from Panax ginseng as sucrose (yield of 8.0%) and ginsenoside. The average carbohydrate content of Panax ginseng from various places of origin was 3.70% for reducing sugar, 15.40% for oligosaccharides, 49.74% for polysaccharides, and 68.84% for total sugars.

Water-soluble pectin can be extracted from 11.74% to 19.86% of American ginseng from various origins. Water-soluble pectin consists of galacturonic acid, galactose, glucose, arabinose, xylose, rhamnose and a small amount of unknown sugar.

The yield of hydrochloric acid soluble pectin was 5.52% to 9.62%. Acid polysaccharide yield of 20.40% to 29.45%.

3.Amino acids are separated from Radix Panax Ginseng, including special amino acids, Tryptophan, 7 kinds of essential free amino acids, and so on.

4. Fatty acids from American ginseng have been identified as hexanoic acid, heptanoic acid, octanoic acid, nonanoic acid, pentadecanoic acid, hexadecanoic acid, heptadecanoic acid, octadecadienoic acid, octadecadienoic acid, 9,12,5-octadecatrienoic acid, and 8-methylsuccinic acid.

5. Polyalkynes, which are volatile and few in number, have strong cytotoxic activity against leukaemia cells (L1210). Three new cytotoxic polyacetylenes were isolated from C. occidentalis: PQ-1, PQ-2, and PQ-3, from which three analogous compounds were later proposed as Panaquin-queeols 1, 2, and 3.

Pharmacological Effect of American Ginseng Extract.

Radix Panax Ginseng Extract has excitatory effect on central nervous system and sedative effect; it has cardioprotective and vasodilatory, antiarrhythmic and myocardial ischemic effects; it has enhanced physical fitness and anti-non-specific stimulation, and it has promoted protein synthesis, etc.; it has enhanced immune effects and lowered the content of hepatic glycogen and increased the content of hepatic deoxyribonucleic acid, RNA; it has anti-aging and promoted the gonadotropic function, and it has a certain degree of blood pressure.
