Uses and functions of Polygonum Cuspidatum Extract.
Slightly cold in nature and slightly bitter in taste, it has the functions of clearing away heat and dampness, promoting blood circulation and menstruation, resolving phlegm and relieving cough, and can be used for acute jaundiced infectious hepatitis, blood stasis and amenorrhoea, rheumatic arthralgia, musculoskeletal pain, bruises, biliousness, gonorrhoea, bronchitis, as well as burns.
Tiger Balm Extract has strong biological activity and can be used for the treatment of paediatric pneumonia, acute viral hepatitis, hepatitis B, hyperlipidaemia, gastrointestinal haemostasis, leucopenia, burns, erosion of the cervix, sand gonorrhoea, haemorrhagic gonorrhoea, and astringent pain in urination.
Pharmacological Effect of Polygonum Cuspidatum Extract.
1. Lipid-lowering effect Resveratrol and resveratrol glycosides have obvious effects on lowering serum cholesterol and triglycerides.
2. Hepatoprotective and choleretic effects Resveratrol Glycosides have a strong inhibitory effect on lipid peroxidation, thus reducing the accumulation of lipid peroxides in the liver and alleviating liver damage.
3.Effects on cardiovascular system Resveratrol glycosides can dilate blood vessels, inhibit platelet aggregation, improve microcirculation, protect the vascular endothelium, which can make the blood pressure drop; Tigress crystals can significantly inhibit ADP, AA and Ca2+-induced platelet aggregation in rabbits.
. Anti-tumour effect of tiger nut extract administered orally, on mouse Ehrlich ascites carcinoma, sarcoma carcinoma 180, hepatocellular carcinoma, mammary carcinoma, lymphosarcoma, melanoma and rat Wacker carcinoma have obvious inhibitory effect, the inhibition rate are greater than 30%.
5. Antipathogenic microorganisms, resveratrol and tiger nut extracts have strong inhibitory effect on staphylococcus, streptococcus and some viruses.
6.Anti-cough and asthma effects of tiger nut extracts on histamine-induced contraction of tracheal smooth muscle has an inhibitory effect.
7.Other effects resveratrol glycosides and pentobarbital and ethyl carbamate have a synergistic effect, can significantly extend the sleep time of mice.
Internal use of upper gastrointestinal bleeding also has a haemostatic effect.8. Toxic effects of small oral anthraquinone derivatives of tiger nut 9g/kg, no death in 1 week; resveratrol glycosides and rhodopsin on the mice intraperitoneal injection of the LD50 were (1000 ± 57.3) mg/kg and (249.5 ± 34.3) mg/kg, respectively.Internal use of upper gastrointestinal bleeding also has a haemostatic effect.

Preparation method of Bulk Polygonum Cuspidatum Extract Powder.
1. Acid digestion test
Pipette 70% alcohol extract, each 10ml, respectively, add hydrochloric acid to a certain concentration, placed in a boiling water bath reflux, and then add methanol dilution and volume to 100ml, respectively, the concentration of determination
2. Acid solution of neutralisation, concentration and drying test take 70% ethanol extract plus hydrochloric acid to 1%, reflux for 3.25 hours obtained from the acid solution, filtration; take up five copies of the filtrate, 90 ml of each, were added to equal equivalents, equivalent to -15%, -5%, +5%, +15% of 20% sodium hydroxide solution.
In each copy, take 5 ml diluted with methanol and fixed volume to 25 ml; another two copies of 25 ml each, a water bath evaporation for 1.5 hours, diluted with methanol and fixed volume to 100 ml; another water bath evaporation for 1.5 hours, vacuum drying (75 ° C) for 1.5 hours, add 25 ml of 70% ethanol, ultrasound, diluted with methanol and fixed volume to 100 ml, determination of the concentration (concentrates, dry matter are converted to the original volume of solution, unit: -15%, -5%, +15% 20% sodium hydroxide solution, respectively). For the original volume of the solution, unit: mg/ml)
3. Enzymatic extraction method
As the tiger nuts contain resveratrol glycosides, acid digestion often causes the destruction of resveratrol, so the enzymatic hydrolysis of glycosides to resveratrol, the product yield can be increased by more than 1 times.
Enzymatic method includes exogenous enzyme and own enzyme method, exogenous enzyme that is to add complex enzyme, in a certain temperature, acidity and alkalinity conditions for enzymatic digestion. The own enzyme method is to use the own enzyme in the tiger nut to hydrolyse resveratrol glycosides to resveratrol, which has the advantages of simple operation and low cost because there is no need to add exogenous enzyme.
