Sulforaphane Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Carrot sulfur can stimulate the body's self-fighting mechanism against cancer. Radish sulfide can activate a human gene that raises levels of antioxidants and blocks an enzyme that can promote tumour growth.
The study suggests that radish sulfide may be able to stop the development of cancer stem cells, whereas chemotherapy and radiation therapy may cause a rebound in the growth of that cancerous cell.
Radish sulfide is a multifunctional enzyme inducer that induces the body to produce the type II detoxification enzymes glutathione transferase (GST) and quinone reductase (QR), an enzyme that fights cancer by neutralising suspected cancer-causing agents and preventing them from destroying genetic factors in healthy cells.
Uses and Function of Sulforaphane.
Radish thiols have been studied for their anti-tumour properties, their ability to help clear bacteria from the lungs, and their ability to combat gout. It can also be used as an adjunctive treatment for leukaemia.
Synthetics of Sulforaphane.
1、Chemical synthesis: In 2003, Desai et al. formed a group to synthesize radish thiols in five steps with isotope labelling, with a yield of ~10%.
2、Enzymatic method: extracting radish sulfide precursor-glucose lycopene from cruciferous vegetables, and preparing radish sulfide by hydrolysis.
3, chemical and enzymatic combination: chemical synthesis and enzymatic extraction combined with the method is extracted from the seeds of arugula to get glucose glyceryl trinucleotide, glucose glyceryl trinucleotide as raw material through the selective oxidation reaction to prepare glucose lycopene, and then hydrolysed to get radish sulfur, the process is expected to achieve industrialisation.
