S-adenosyl Methionine Raw materials Powder S-adenosyl Methionine
Product Overview:
S-adenosylmethionine is a coenzyme involved in methyl transfer reactions and is present in all eukaryotic cells. Upon loss of this activating methyl group, SAM changes to S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine (SAH). Its discovery was made as early as 1952 by a scientist (Cantoni).

S-adenosyl Methionine Raw materials Powder S-adenosyl Methionine Details
S-adenosyl Methionine Powder Usage and Synthesis.
S-adenosylmethionine is widely found in various organisms and participates in more than 40 biochemical reactions in the body, playing an important role in the synthesis of proteins, nucleic acids, neurotransmitters, phospholipids and vitamins.S-adenosylmethionine is an important metabolic intermediary, which is crucial to the normal metabolic activities of the organism.
Uses of S-adenosyl Methionine.
S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe) is a naturally occurring molecule with a variety of biological functions, such as promotion of bile secretion, cholodynamic effects, promotion of hepatocyte regeneration and proliferation, neuroprotection, and antioxidant effects, etc. SAMe is also used to alleviate intrahepatic cholestasis and to improve depressive mood. In addition, SAMe can participate in various metabolic reactions in vivo, such as methyl transfer, sulfhydryl transfer and aminopropylation.
Synthesis method of S-adenosyl Methionine.
S-adenosylmethionine is synthesized intracellularly from adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and methionine by methionine adenosyltransferase catalyzed by the loss of a methyl group to S-adenosylhomocysteine while participating in a methyl transfer reaction as a coenzyme. Most of the S-adenosyl methionine is produced in the liver.
