Vincamine is a major alkaloid in Vinca minor, a quebracho alkaloid in monoterpene indole alkaloids. Its chemical name is (3α, 14β, 16α)-14,15-dihydro-14-hydroxyvinyl-14-carboxylic acid methyl ester, a white powder, soluble in acidic solution. The structure of naturally extracted vincamine is a dextrorotatory isomer, while synthetic vincamine is a racemic isomer. Vincamine Powder Usage and Synthesis.
