HRK Supply Carboxymethyl Starch Sodium Raw Materials Powder
Product Overview:
Sodium carboxymethyl starch is a white or yellow powder, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and easy to absorb moisture when heated. Sodium carboxymethyl starch dissolves in water to form a colloidal solution, which is stable to light and heat. It is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and chloroform. The aqueous solution of this product is relatively stable in alkali, but poor in acid, generating free acid that is insoluble in water, and the viscosity is reduced, so it is not suitable for strongly acidic foods. The viscosity of the aqueous solution decreases when heated for a long time at above 80°C.

HRK Supply Carboxymethyl Starch Sodium Raw Materials Powder Details
Carboxymethyl Starch Sodium Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Food grade sodium carboxymethyl starch (CMS) is a modified starch etherified with carboxymethyl. It is tasteless, non-toxic, not easy to mold, and easily soluble in water. It is used in different foods to show various functions such as thickening, suspension, emulsification, stabilization, shape retention, film formation, puffing, preservation, acid resistance and health care. Its performance is better than carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and it is the best product to replace CMC.
Food grade sodium carboxymethyl starch is widely used in milk, beverages, frozen foods, fast food, cakes, syrups and other products. In addition, CMS is physiologically inert and has no calorific value, so it can also be used to make low-calorific value foods to achieve ideal results.

Product Methods of Bulk Carboxymethyl Starch Sodium Powder.
Starch is treated with sodium hydroxide to obtain alkali starch, which is then reacted with monochloroacetic acid or acrylonitrile. The remaining sodium monochloroacetate and sodium hydroxide are washed away with sulfuric acid, and then dehydrated and dried to obtain sodium carboxymethyl starch.
