Other studies using nicotinamide riboside in Alzheimer's disease models have shown that the molecule is bioavailable for the brain and may provide neuroprotective effects by stimulating brain NAD synthesis.
In addition, a 2012 study observed that mice fed a high-fat diet supplemented with nicotinamide riboside gained 60 percent less weight than mice fed the same high-fat diet without nicotinamide riboside.
