Olanzapine Usage and Function.
Olanzapine, a new atypical neuroleptic agent, can bind to dopamine receptors, 5-HT receptors and cholinergic receptors, and has antagonistic effects. Antagonistic D2 receptors are associated with positive symptoms in the treatment of schizophrenia; Antagonism of the 5-HT2A receptor is associated with negative symptoms of treatment for schizophrenia.
