Fosfomycin Sodium Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Fosfomycin sodium binds to a bacterial cell wall synthase, blocking the first step in the bacterial reaction of synthesising the cell wall using the substance in question, thus acting as a bactericidal agent.
For staphylococcus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, gonococcus, Proteus mirabilis, typhoid fever bacteria, Serratia marcescens, most of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus faecalis, part of the indole-positive Streptococcus pyogenes, and some of the Klebsiella, Enterobacter spp. bacteria.
Fosfomycin sodium is mainly used clinically for the treatment of urinary tract, urinary system, skin and soft tissue, respiratory tract, intestinal tract and other parts of the infection caused by sensitive gram-negative bacteria.
It can also be used in combination with other antibiotics for the treatment of severe infections caused by sensitive bacteria such as sepsis, lung, meningeal infections, peritonitis, uterine adnexitis, intrauterine infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, osteomyelitis and so on. It can also be used in combination with vancomycin to treat methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections.
Uses of Fosfomycin Sodium.

Mainly used for the treatment of acute and chronic intestinal diseases caused by staphylococcus, streptococcus, E. coli, salmonella and other gram-negative bacteria in chickens, ducks and pigs.
Physiological Effects of Fosfomycin Sodium.
1. Wide antimicrobial spectrum, high bioavailability, fast absorption, strong antimicrobial power, not affected by diet. It has killing effect on Gram-positive and negative bacteria, especially on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Aspergillus, Salmonella and Staphylococcus and Escherichia coli which are resistant to various drugs can show excellent antibacterial activity.
Used in animals, there is no drug resistance and cross-resistance, good clinical therapeutic effect.
2. Rapid bactericidal: this product is a rapid bactericide, its effect is already obvious after 1-2 hours. About 25% of Escherichia coli are killed 1 hour after contacting Phosphomycin (12.5μg/ml), while all of them die within 4-6 hours. Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus were also killed completely in 4 and 8 hours respectively.
