Schizandrin Powder Usage and Synthesis.

The active ingredient extracted from the fruit of Schisandra chinensis, family Magnoliaceae. Schisandra chinensis has astringent lung, nourishing the kidneys, generating fluids, and stopping sweating.

It is often used in chronic cough and asthma, low thirst, excessive sweating, dreaming and prolonged diarrhoea. Also used in the treatment of acute, chronic and prolonged pneumonia.

It has the effect of significantly lowering serum glutamine transaminase. A class of lignans extracted from the kernel of Schisandra chinensis. Its structure can be represented by Schisandra chinensis propionin.

In different products, the methylenedioxy group on the benzene ring can be replaced by two methoxy groups, and the aliphatic shelf portion of the eight-membered ring can have one or more hydroxyl groups (or its ester group).

It was found that the UV absorption spectra of Schisandra chinensis, Schisandra chinensis and Schisandra chinensis ester A were similar because of their biphenyl cyclooctene configuration; however, due to the difference of the linked groups in the biphenyl cyclooctene configuration, the fluorescence properties were quite different, and when the excitation wavelength was from 250 to 260 nm, the fluorescence efficiency of Schisandra chinensis was more than ten times of that of Schisandra chinensis, and Schisandra chinensis ester A did not have fluorescence properties, but its hydrolytic properties were not as high as those of Schisandra chinensis. When the excitation wavelength was 250~260nm, the fluorescence efficiency of Schisandra chinensis was more than ten times of that of Schisandra chinensis A, while Schisandra chinensis A did not have fluorescence property, but its hydrolysis product had fluorescence, and its fluorescence efficiency was similar to that of Schisandra chinensis B.
