Pharmaceutical Bulk Ampicillin Powder Details
Ampicillin Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Ampicillin, also known as ampicillin and ampicillin, is less potent than penicillin against most gram-positive bacteria.
However, it has a strong effect on most gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella, Haemophilus, Brucella and Bartonella, etc. It is similar to or slightly stronger than chloramphenicol and tetracycline, but the toxic effect is less than that of chloramphenicol and tetracycline.
It is ineffective against drug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Ampicillin is widely used for lung and urinary tract infections in humans and animals caused by sensitive bacteria and certain infections caused by gram-negative bacilli, such as human meningitis, endocarditis, etc.; foal and calf pneumonia, bovine pasteurellosis, pneumonia, mastitis, porcine contagious pleuropneumonia, chicken dysentery, avian typhoid fever and so on.
Ampicillin is susceptible to bacterial β-lactamase interference with the decomposition and thus reduce the efficacy of the clinic is often used in conjunction with the synthetic β-lactamase inhibitor - sulbactam to increase its synergistic effect, not only to improve its antibacterial activity, but also to expand its antibacterial spectrum. In addition, ampicillin and aminoglycoside antibiotics also have a synergistic effect, which can enhance the therapeutic effect.
Uses and functions of Ampicillin.
It can semi-synthesise broad-spectrum penicillin. It is enzyme-intolerant, acid-stable and has low toxicity. It has an inhibitory effect on both Gram-negative and positive bacteria, and has a stronger effect on Hepatobacterium coli, Influenza bacillus, Salmonella, Shigella and some Aspergillus.
Pharmacological Effects of Ampicillin Raw.
1. Mixed with streptomycin sulfate, kanamycin, gentamicin, tetracycline and chlorpromazine, easy to precipitate;
2. Reaction ampicillin acts in the intestinal flora, can affect the absorption of salicylazosulfapyridine;
3. Combined with probenecid, it can delay excretion and increase blood concentration;
4. This drug can prevent the oral contraceptive intestinal and hepatic circulation, so that the blood concentration of the latter can reduce the bioavailability of the receptor blocker atenolol.
Production method of Bulk Ampicillin Powder.
Firstly, the side chain carboxylic acid of D(-)-phenylglycine was made into a chloride by using the chlorinating agent PCI5. and then it was obtained by condensation reaction with 6-APA. Acetone and water were added to the reaction tank, and 6-APA was added when the temperature was lowered to -5 - 10°C. Phenylglycine hydrochloride chloride was added, and the pH was adjusted to 3.5 with 10% sodium hydroxide after the reaction for 0.5 h. The reactants were extracted with toluene. The aqueous layer was taken and the pH was adjusted with 10% ammonia to about 3.0. It was decoloured with activated carbon and filtered. The filtrate was then adjusted with ammonia to pH 4.8. It was allowed to stand, then filtered, washed with acetone, and dried under vacuum at 40°C to obtain the product.
