Uses and Function of Matrine.
Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs, used for the treatment of chronic cervicitis, bacillary dysentery, enteritis and other conditionsAntibacterial and anti-inflammatory drugs, used for chronic cervicitis, bacillary dysentery, enteritis and other conditions.
Diuretic effect, anti-pathogen effect.
Pharmacological Effect of Matrine.
1. Diuretic effect.
The decoction of Panax ginseng, containing Panax quinquefolium, was administered orally to rabbits, which could produce diuretic effects, with an increase in urinary output preceded by an increase in the excretion of salts. However, the number of rabbits used in the experiment was relatively small, and the situation of drinking water control was not described, so it was thought that further research was needed.
2. Antipathogenic effect.
Decoction in test tubes at high concentration (1:100) inhibited Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Decoction (8%), aqueous decoction in vitro against some common skin fungi have different degrees of inhibition.
3.Other effects.
Picrasidine injected into rabbits, found that the phenomenon of central nervous paralysis, homoeopathic spasms, and ultimately by respiratory arrest and death. Injected into frogs, the first was excited, followed by paralysis, respiration became slow and irregular, and finally spasm occurred, so that respiratory arrest and death; the spasm of the onset of the spasm, it is feared to be due to the spinal cord reflexes. The minimum lethal dose for rabbits is 0.4g/kg.
4.The anti-hepatitis B and C virus effect of oxidised Picrasinine.
Picrasidine oxide shows strong antiviral activity against HBV in vitro and in animal models, and also has an anti-HBV effect in vivo, and has been reported to be used in the treatment of chronic viral hepatitis.
Characteristic of Bulk Matrine Powder.
The main components of Panax quinquefolium are Picrasidine, Oxidised Picrasidine, Sophorine, Oxidised Sophorine, Sophorine and other alkaloids, with Picrasidine and Oxidised Picrasidine having the highest content.
With different crystallisation conditions, Picrasidine has four crystal types: α-type: acicular, melting point 76℃; β-type: short prismatic, melting point 87℃; γ-type: oily liquid, static transformation to α-type; δ-type: leafy or prismatic, melting point 84℃.
