Diosmetin Usage and Synthesis.

Geranyl lignans are natural flavonoids with a variety of biological activities, such as antioxidant, anti-infective, and anti-shock effects, and inhibition of human CYP1A enzyme activity.

Among them, geraniol lignans and their analogue Diosmetin have significant effects in inhibiting cytochrome P450 (CYP) isoforms CYP1A1 and CYP1B1. In addition, geranylgeranyl has anti-mutagenic and anti-stress properties.

In conclusion, geranylgeranyl has a variety of biological activities, but its specific applications need to be further studied and explored.

Uses of Diosmetin.

1. It has been studied that geranylgeranyl has a pressurising effect.

2. Geranyl lignin has a significant sensitising effect on the chemiluminescence of potassium ferricyanide - luminal system. The test results show that: after adding potassium ferricyanide solution in alkaline luminal solution for 0.8S, the luminescence intensity increases by 0.5 times, and then slowly decreases after 3.85S; in the mixture of alkaline luminal and potassium ferricyanide solution, geranyl lignin is added after 0.55S. The luminescence intensity more than doubled, and the change of luminescence value of the latter exceeded that of the former.

This indicates that geranyl lignin has a strong sensitising effect on the chemiluminescence of alkaline luminescence oxidised by potassium ferricyanide solution.

3. Geranyl lignans can be used in the production of functional foods, cosmetics and future drugs with antioxidant, anti-infective and anti-shock effects. A natural flavonoid that inhibits human CYP1A enzyme activity. Geranylgeranyl has anti-mutagenic and anti-stress properties.

Preparation of Diosmetin.

A process of semi-synthesis of geranyl lignin, comprising: adding water and concentrated sulfuric acid to diosmin for hydrolysis, pumping filtration, and washing the filter cake to obtain a crude geranyl lignin; adding ethanol at a concentration of 50-60% to the crude geranyl lignin, heating and refluxing, filtration, and decompression concentration of the filtrate, and crystals at reduced temperature, to obtain a primary pure geranylignin; adding ethanol at a concentration of 90-95% to the primary pure geranylignin, heating and refluxing, filtration, and decompression concentration of the filtrate, and crystals at reduced temperature. Add 90-95% ethanol into the primary pure product of geraniol, heat reflux, filtration, filtrate concentration under reduced pressure, crystals at reduced temperature, to get geraniol.

The process of water as a solvent to one-step production of geranyl lignin, the synthesis process is simple, easy to obtain raw materials, stable reaction conditions, easy to operate, low production costs, product yield up to 60-65%, purity of 98-99%, can be used for large-scale production of geranyl lignin.
