Butenafine Hydrochloride Powder is a benzylamine derivative with antifungal activity. Its structure and antibacterial mechanism are similar to those of acrylamides, except that the acrylamine gene is replaced by the benzyl group of butyric acid, which has strong antibacterial and fungicidal activity and a wide antibacterial spectrum.

Butenafine hydrochloride can inhibit the activity of fungal squalene cyclocoxidase at low concentration, leading to the accumulation of sexual squalene and the insufficiency of ergosterol synthesis. The direct toxic effect of squalene on fungal cells can lead to the rapid death of fungi, and ergosterol is an essential component of the formation of fungal cell membrane, and the insufficient synthesis of ergosterol directly leads to the inhibition of fungal growth.
This dual action of butenafine hydrochloride causes the rupture of fungal cell membrane, showing strong bactericidal activity, and high concentration butenafine hydrochloride also has a direct destructive effect on fungi.
Pharmacological effect of Butenafine Hydrochloride Powder
The main mechanism of butenafine's action is that it selectively inhibits the squalene cyclooxidase of fungi, leading to the deficiency of ergosterol synthesis and accumulation of a large amount of squalene. Squalene has direct toxic effects on fungal cells and can cause rapid death of fungi, showing the fungicidal activity of butenafine. Ergosterol is an essential component of fungal cell membrane formation. The deficiency of ergosterol synthesis inhibits fungal growth.
This dual action of butenafine causes the rupture of fungal cell membrane, showing strong fungicidal activity, blocking the synthesis of fungal cell membrane, thus playing the dual role of inhibiting and killing fungi, and its safety is high and tolerance is good.
White crystalline or crystalline powder, odorless or slightly heterostinous, bitter. Soluble in methanol, ethanol or chloroform, insoluble in anhydrous acetic acid or acetonitrile, little soluble in ether. Melting point 200 ~ 202℃(methanol-acetic acid).
