Capreomycin Sulfate Powder Usage and Synthesis.
Capreomycin Sulfate Powder is used to study the interaction of bacterial ribosomal subunits and the transport process during protein synthesis. Capreomycin Sulfate CAS 1405-37-4 is commonly used in formulations such as injections.
Capreomycin Sulfate Raw Materials is used as a second-line drug for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, as one of the combination drugs for those who have failed first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs (such as streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampicin and ethambutol), or when toxic effects or bacterial resistance to one or more of the above drugs have developed.
Capreomycin has an inhibitory effect on human Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Colistin sulfate for injection: white or off-white powder or loose lump; odorless; moisture-attracting.
Application/Function of Capreomycin Sulfate Powder.
Capreomycin sulfate is a salt of a complex of cyclic pentopeptides isolated from Streptomyces capreolus, first reported in 1962. The sulfate salt is the most commonly accessible formulation of capreomycin and is used for pharmaceutical applications. The complex has two major components, IA and IB, with an exocyclic lysine residue, and two minor delysinyl components, IIA and IIB.
Capreomycin is a potent antibiotic with activity against mycobateria, and Gram positive and negative organisms. Capreomycin acts by binding to the 23S ribosomal subunit, disrupting protein synthesis.
- Thought to inhibit protein synthesis by inhibiting normal ribosomal functions
- Capreomycin Sulfate is use for antibacterial, tuberculostatic

Drug Interaction of Capreomycin Sulfate Powder
- 1. Combining Capreomycin Sulfate with aminoglycosides may increase the likelihood of ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity and neuromuscular blockade, and hearing loss. It can continue to progress to deafness even after discontinuation of the drug, often on a permanent basis. Neuromuscular blockade can lead to skeletal muscle weakness and respiratory depression or respiratory muscle paralysis, which can be restored with anticholinesterase drugs or calcium salts.
- 2.Capreomycin Sulfate can antagonize the effect of the latter on skeletal muscle when combined with anti-neuromuscular blocking drugs, so the dose of antimuscarinic drugs needs to be adjusted at the time of or after the combination.
- 3、Antihistamines, bucrizine, seclizine, meclizine, phenothiazines, thiazides, trimethoprim, and trimethoprim may mask ototoxic symptoms such as tinnitus, dizziness or vertigo when combined with this product.
- 4、Capreomycin Sulfate and amphotericin B, vancomycin, bacitracin, balonamycin, cyclosporine, carazolamide, cisplatin, bumetanide, etanercept, furosemide may increase the possibility of ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity when used together or sequentially.
- 5、The nephrotoxicity or neuromuscular blocking effect may increase when methoxyflurane or polymyxin injections are applied simultaneously or successively with this product, so the combination should be avoided; the neuromuscular blocking effect may cause skeletal muscle weakness and respiratory depression or respiratory muscle paralysis; caution should also be exercised when this product is combined with both during or after surgery, and the use of anticholinesterase drugs or calcium salts may help to restore the blocking.
- 6. When this product is combined with opioid analgesics, the central respiratory depressant effect of both may add up, resulting in increased respiratory depression or prolonged depression or respiratory paralysis, which must be closely observed and followed up.
