Furacilin Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Furacilin is a synthetic nitrofuran topical disinfectant that can play a role in interfering with the sugar metabolism process and oxidase system of bacteria, thus achieving the purpose of bacteriostatic or bactericidal.

Furacilin has a wide antibacterial spectrum, resistance to a variety of gram-positive and negative bacteria, in vitro can inhibit general bacteria, higher concentrations can kill bacteria, external rinsing or wet compresses to deal with body surface infections and skin diseases is more effective, and has been vigorously promoted in the clinic.

Furacilin is a yellow crystalline powder, odourless, light taste at first, but there is a slightly bitter aftertaste, the colour darkens under sunlight, 236-240 ℃ melting and decomposition at the same time. Slightly soluble in ethanol, very slightly soluble in water, almost insoluble in ether and chloroform.
