Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Levofloxacin Hydrochloride is the levorotatory form of ofloxacin, its antibacterial activity is about twice as much as that of of ofloxacin, the main mechanism of action of Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Powder is to inhibit the activity of bacterial DNA rotamase (bacterial topoisomerase Ⅱ), and impede the replication of bacterial DNA.

Uses and functions of Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Powder.

Levofloxacin Hydrochloride has strong antibacterial activity against most Enterobacteriaceae, such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Serratia, Aspergillus, Shigella, Salmonella, Citrobacter, Bacillus, as well as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Gonorrhea and other gram-negative bacteria.

It also has good antibacterial effect on some methicillin-sensitive staphylococci, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, hemolytic streptococci and other Gram-positive bacteria and Legionella, Mycoplasma, Chlamydia and so on. However, the effect on anaerobic bacteria and enterococci is poor.

Production method of Levofloxacin Hydrochloride Powder.

The synthesis process in the prior art has the following problems:

• (1) Levofloxacin crystals need to be produced first and then salted with hydrochloric acid, which is a long and cumbersome process and not easy to operate;
• (2) The use of a catalyst in the preparation of levofloxacin introduces impurities, resulting in a lower purity of the ultimately produced levofloxacin hydrochloride, which needs to be refined again.
