Baicalein Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Baicalein is so named because it is mainly found in Scutellaria baicalensis. Baicalein has the effect of lowering cerebral vascular resistance, improving cerebral blood circulation, increasing cerebral blood flow and antiplatelet agglutination. It is clinically used in the treatment of paralysis after cerebrovascular disease.

Uses and functions of Berberine.

It has anti-inflammatory, anti-metamorphic reaction, diuretic, choleretic, cholesterol-lowering, anti-thrombotic, and asthma-relieving effects. It is also a specific inhibitor of mammalian liver salivary enzymes and has the effect of regulating certain diseases. It is used as raw material to produce baicalin protophosphate for allergy, asthmatic pneumonia, also used as astringent, haemostatic drugs.

Pharmacological Effect of Berberine.

Anti-inflammatory and anti-metamorphic reactions Baicalein, baicalein has a relieving effect on allergic constriction of isolated trachea in guinea pigs and allergic asthma in the whole animal and shows synergistic effect with ephedrine.

Phosphate of baicalin is stronger than sodium sulfate, baicalin can inhibit the Schul-tz-Dale reaction of isolated trachea and ileum, and also inhibit the passive skin allergic reaction and histamine skin reaction of guinea pig, which is stronger than glucoside in the anti-allergic reaction.

Scutellaria baicalensis has a direct relaxing effect on smooth muscle due to the injury to the enzyme activation system of mast cells and the inhibition of the release of allergic mediators, which does not produce allergic reactions.

Scutellaria baicalensis glycosides and baicalin can inhibit allergic oedema and inflammation, and both can reduce the permeability of mouse ear capillaries, the latter can prevent lung haemorrhage caused by low air pressure in mice.

Anti-microbial effects Scutellaria baicalensis has a wide antibacterial spectrum, in vitro against dysentery bacillus, diphtheria bacillus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococcus, streptococcus, diphtheria pneumoniae, and meningococcus, etc., the decoction of the spray for the throat, the meningitis carriers are also effective, even if penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Scutellaria baicalensis is still sensitive.

Product method of  Bulk Baicalein Powder.

1.Extraction Scutellaria root crushed with water boiled 3 times, combined extracts, filtered and added acid to adjust the ph value of 4, stirred with slight heat and left to stand, centrifuged to separate the precipitate. The precipitate was washed with water with ph value of 4 and dried to obtain the crude product. The crude product was hydrolysed in 1.2 mol-L-1 hydrochloric acid in boiling water for several hours, and the precipitate was filtered off by cooling to be baicalin.
