Ceftriaxone sodium is a water-soluble β-lactam cephalosporin, a non-gastrointestinal, semi-synthetic, broad-spectrum, long-lasting third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, very sensitive to most Gram-positive and negative bacteria, with a broad antibacterial spectrum, strong antibacterial effect, resistance to enzymatic degradation, low toxicity, strong tissue penetration, and long half-life. 

The β-lactam structure of ceftriaxone acts on the carboxypeptidase, peptide chain endonuclease, transpeptidase of bacterial cytoplasmic membrane, these enzymes are involved in cell synthesis and cell division, which leads to cell wall defects and cell death, and inhibits mucopeptide synthesis of bacterial cell wall to achieve the therapeutic effect, and it has achieved good therapeutic effect in the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections, skin tissues, urinary tract infection, bone and joint infections, as well as bacterial septicemia. Pharmacological Effects of Ceftriaxone Sodium Powder.

This product is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It has strong activity against Enterobacteriaceae. The MIC90 for Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Enterobacter aerogenes, Flouraudi citrobacter, indole-positive Aspergillus, Prevotella spp. and Serratia spp. ranged from 0.12 to 0.25 mg/L. 

Enterobacter cloacae, Enterobacteriaceae spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were poorly susceptible to the product. It has strong antibacterial effect on Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis, and also has good effect on Streptococcus haemolyticus and Pneumococcus. 

The MIC for Staphylococcus aureus is 2-4mg/L. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus are resistant to the product. The majority of S. fragilis are resistant to this product.
