Chlorpromazine HCL Powder Usage and Synthesis.

Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride Powder is a white or creamy white crystalline powder. Melting point 179-180℃ (194-196℃). It is soluble in water, ethanol and chloroform, insoluble in ether and benzene. 

Chlorpromazine HCL Powder is a representative drug in phenothiazine class. To the central nervous system, it has a stabilizing effect in small doses and an antipsychotic effect in large doses with continuous use. 

Chlorpromazine HCL Raw Material is mainly used for antipsychotic, strengthening the effect of hypnotics, anesthetics, analgesics and anticonvulsants. It can also be used as an antiemetic for vomiting and refractory eruptions and to induce artificial hibernation.

Application/Function of Chlorpromazine HCL Powder.

• 1. Treatment of psychosis: It is used to control the symptoms of excitement and commotion, nervousness and restlessness, hallucinations and delusions in schizophrenia or other psychoses, and is less effective in the symptoms of melancholy and xylophobia.
• 2. Antiemetic: It is effective for vomiting caused by almost all kinds of reasons, such as uremia, gastroenteritis, cancer, pregnancy and drug-induced vomiting. It can also be used to treat intractable eructations, but is not effective for vomiting from motion sickness.
• 3. Low temperature anesthesia and artificial hibernation: it can prevent shock when used in low temperature anesthesia.
• 4. Used in combination with analgesics to treat severe pain in patients with advanced cancer.
• 5. Treatment of heart failure.
• 6. Trial use in the treatment of gigantism.

Chlorpromazine HCL Powder is obtained by condensation and salt formation of 2-chlorophenothiazine [92-39-7].1. Condensation Add 2-chlorophenothiazine and toluene to the reaction pot, then add sodium hydroxide, stir and heat to reflux, remove water, add toluene solution of 1-chloro-3-dimethylaminopropane dropwise at 110°C, recover toluene from the reaction product under pressure, that is, chlorpromazine, C17H19CIN2S, [50-53-3].2. ... into salt by heating chlorpromazine and isopropanol with stirring to 40°C and passing dry hydrogen chloride to pH 4-5 to obtain chlorpromazine hydrochloride as a salt.
