Product details

Fructose (pharmaceutical excipient) usage and synthesis method:
Fructose is used as a flavoring or sweetening agent in tablets, syrups, and solutions. Fructose is an important Medicinal Excipients and Excipient, Fructose Medicinal Excipients belongs to amino acid dipeptide derivatives, Fructose is hygroscopic and will absorb a lot of moisture when the relative humidity is greater than 60%.
Fructose is a simple sugar found in honey and many fruits. Inulin, glucose, and sucrose can be prepared by some methods. Industrially, fructose is mainly obtained by crystallization of high fructose syrup obtained by hydrolysis and isomerization of corn starch, sucrose and beet sugar. Fructose is hygroscopic and will absorb a lot of moisture when the relative humidity is greater than 60%. A large number of raw materials should be stored in the original packaging in airtight conditions with a temperature of less than 25°C and a relative humidity of less than 60%, and their stability can be maintained for at least one year. The aqueous solution is most stable when the pH is 3~4 and the temperature is 4~70°C, and it can withstand autoclaving.

Fructose (pharmaceutical excipient) function:
Fructose is used as a flavoring or sweetening agent in tablets, syrups, and solutions. Fructose has a much faster sweetness response in the mouth than sucrose and glucose, which explains why fructose can enhance the sweetness of syrups or tablets and mask the unpleasant taste of certain vitamins and minerals. The better solubility of fructose compared to sucrose is advantageous for syrups or solutions that must be refrigerated because precipitation or crystallization of its components is effectively inhibited, similarly compared to sucrose and The greater solubility and hygroscopicity of fructose than glucose helps avoid "jammed caps" (sugar crystallization around the cap) in elixir vials. It can therefore be used to sweeten ethanol-containing preparations.

The moisture content of the sweetener has an effect on the microbial stability and freshness of the preparation, and compared with sucrose, fructose has lower moisture content and higher osmotic pressure. Fructose syrups can be prepared at a lower level of solids than sucrose syrups without compromising their shelf-life stability, although it may be necessary to add thickeners or gelling agents to give such sugar-containing preparations an interphase texture and viscosity. Fructose is sweeter than mannitol and sorbitol, and these two sugar alcohols are commonly used excipients in tablet preparation. Although fructose can effectively remove the bad smell in tablets, it is relatively low in the case of tablet compression speed. To obtain Tablets with ideal hardness and crushing degree can only be obtained by direct compression method.
Fructose, as a simple sugar, exists in honey and a large number of fruits. Inulin, glucose, and sucrose can be prepared by some methods. Industrially, fructose is mainly obtained by crystallization of high fructose syrup obtained by hydrolysis and isomerization of corn starch, sucrose and beet sugar.

Application of fructose (pharmaceutical excipient):
Fructose is used as a flavoring or sweetening agent in tablets, syrups, and solutions. Co-precipitates of fructose and hydrophobic drugs such as digoxin can enhance the dissolution of such drugs. Apparently, fructose served as a water-soluble carrier during the co-precipitation process, making hydrophobic drugs easier to wet.
